And hello Grey Guy! My daughters named this kitten Basil, but I can’t ever seem to remember that when I happen to walk past the front door and see him curled up in the potted plant outside. So I just call him Grey Guy. He was born here on our farm this spring and we have been debating making him a house cat.

His coloration is known as Russian Blue. We’ve never had a kitten of this color before which makes him special. Me being a color lover, I am enamored with the exact hue of his fur. It is indeed a bluish grey especially against certain backdrops. And I am totally mesmerized by his shimmery silver paws.

Gazing on beauty such as Grey Guy feeds my soul. One cannot hold both stress and thoughts of beauty in the mind simultaneously. This is a blessing. May you find something beautiful to delight in today.

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will declare all your wonderful deeds. I will delight and rejoice in you; I will sing hymns to your name, O Most High. — Psalm 9:1-2
