Divine Blessing by Michelle L Hofer – 8 x 10 inches, acrylic on paper, 2018

For almost 10 years I had been building a career in the realm of worship art. I had been making, teaching, and speaking around the many ways art can transform both the worship space and experience. I felt I had found my one true calling.

Three years years ago that all fell apart and I went through an incredibly tough time. I struggled to know what purpose I was to fulfill with my gifts. After months of feeling unsure where to focus my artistic energies, I decided to give myself a little challenge to paint every day for a full month. Here is the first painting I completed!

I painted 4 others that month. My perspective on life began to shift. I decided to KEEP GOING. I by challenging myself to paint every day for a full year. It is fitting that this first painting to come out of that challenge features the hand of God in a gesture of blessing. God has clearly blessed my from this painting forward. His hand has been over me. The dark days of being lost and depressed have lifted because…

GOD IS FAITHFUL AND GOOD

My year of painting was fruitful – I completed 45 paintings. It gave me the courage to building something new. I now have a studio business. I make art that speaks of God’s care, and I’m working to share the healing power of beauty. I’m amazed by how people tell me my work has blessed them.

I’m excited for what is ahead.
